Common questions

How does Tally work?
Tell Tally your monthly income, your regular bills and a savings goal. It works out what's left to spend for the current pay cycle and shows it as a single number that ticks down as you spend.
How do I connect my bank or Apple Card?
In Settings, turn on automatic sync and grant permission when iOS asks. Tally reads your spending through Apple's FinanceKit. Which accounts appear depends on your region and card issuer — Apple Card and supported banks connect through Apple Wallet. If an account isn't supported, you can still add transactions manually.
Do I have to connect a bank?
No. Tally works entirely with manual entry — add income, bills and one-off spends yourself. Automatic tracking is an optional convenience.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. Tally has no account and no server, and doesn't upload or sell your data. With Tally+ you can optionally sync across your devices through your own iCloud. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
What is Tally+?
Tally+ is an optional subscription that adds automatic bank & Apple Card sync, iCloud sync across devices, deeper insights and widgets, and removes ads. Setting your budget and adding transactions is free. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Tally+ is billed through your Apple ID and renews until cancelled. To manage or cancel it, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
I found a bug — what do I do?
Email help@visualytics.co.uk with your device model, iOS version, and a note on what happened. It genuinely helps.
