Tally keeps your financial data on your device. There is no Tally account, no server, and nothing is sold or shared.

Tally (“the app”) is an independent iOS app made by Daniel Morton under the Visualytics name. This policy explains what the app uses, where it goes, and — importantly for a money app — what it deliberately does not do.
What the app uses
- Your budget entries. The income, bills, savings goal and transactions you add are stored on your device so Tally can work out what's left to spend.
- Connected account transactions (optional). If you choose to turn on automatic tracking, Tally reads transactions and balances from the accounts you've connected to Apple Wallet — using Apple's FinanceKit — to keep your spending up to date without manual entry.
Automatic tracking with FinanceKit
Automatic tracking is entirely optional and off until you turn it on. When you do, iOS shows a system permission prompt, and Tally reads your account data through Apple's FinanceKit framework. A few things are true by design:
- Access is read-only. Tally can read transactions and balances; it cannot move money or change your accounts.
- Your financial data is used only to calculate your spending and “left this cycle” figure inside the app. It is never used for advertising or profiling.
- It stays on your device. Tally has no server of its own and does not upload, sell or share your transactions with anyone.
- You're in control. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Financial Data, and disconnect within Tally.
What stays on your device
Tally has no account system and no server of its own. Your budget, transactions and any imported account data are kept on your device. If you enable iCloud sync (part of Tally+), that data syncs privately through your own Apple iCloud account using Apple's encrypted CloudKit — Visualytics never sees it.
Purchases
Tally offers an optional subscription, Tally+. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Tally does not receive or store your payment details.
Permissions
Tally asks for permission to read your connected financial accounts only if you turn on automatic tracking. You can grant, change or revoke it any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Financial Data. Without it, you can still use Tally by adding transactions manually.
Analytics and tracking
Tally contains no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and your financial data is never used for advertising.
Children
Tally is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it.
